House Bill 3820 has been introduced before the Illinois legislature. The bill would amend the state’s WARN Act to require that employees affected by a plant closing or a mass layoff be paid severance based on their seniority with the company. The bill would also require an additional four weeks pay when employers violate Illinois’ WARN Act.
